We found that Mexico can be as cheap or as expensive as you like. If you want to go cheap (but still sooo tasty) street food is readily available everywhere! There were also a great range of restaurants in every town and city we went to in Mexico that were not that expensive and amazing value for what you get. There is also an option for going all out if you do fancy spending a bit more for a upmarket dining experience. So search around and you can definitely tailor your experience to suit all budgets!

Alcohol = 819 MXN    2.2%

As we are not huge alcohol drinkers (except for the odd crazy night out!) we didn’t spend a huge amount on alcohol although sometimes you cannot beat sitting on the beach with a ice cold beer after a day in the sun!

Groceries / Sweets / Chocolate = 1,903 MXN    5.1%

During our stay in Mexico we did a few trips to the markets, local shops and supermarkets when we were staying in a place or hostel for a few days as sometimes its nice to have a bit of home cooked food! Some hostels we stayed in also provided breakfast or something you could help yourself to in the morning like cereals or fruit to set you up before you head out for the day. From there the adventure was destined to continue... this intrepid couple spent the next 10 months soaking up the vibrance of Mexico, hiking up volcanoes in Guatemala, taking in the wild scenery of Canada & experiencing the beauty & diversity of Colombia, before eventually returning to the UK.

With the feeling of exploration in their souls, Kelly & Adam knew that they wanted to build a life that brought them closer to nature, a life that made adventure part of their every day. Selling most of their belongings & packing the rest of what they owned into their tiny home on wheels, van life became the next step of their journey.
