We like to keep our social media feeds filled with things that we love, especially outdoor & hiking inspiration.

Sitting with a hot cup of coffee in the morning, checking out shots of majestic peaks & beautiful trails, keeps us inspired. With the endless stream of doom & gloom news & keyboard warriors on the rise, it’s never been more important for us to use social media in a positive way, connecting with like-minded people who share our passion for the great outdoors.

Here you’ll discover the accounts that make us want to pull our hiking boots on every time we see a post from them on Insta.

Our hiking inspiration comes from followers others who love the outdoors as much as we do - The Wilder Route.

Outdoor & Hiking Inspiration

We are passionate about sharing the incredible effects spending time outdoors can have, not just on our physical but our mental health too.

This scientific report on shows that spending at least 120 minutes a week in nature is associated with good health & wellbeing.

It’s not just this report & us that advocate this though, loads of people are & we’re delighted to be sharing with you some of our favs…

A U.S.-based, member-owned co-op since 1938, REI shares content from its followers worldwide who provide tons of outdoor adventure & hiking inspiration.

We especially love how they don’t always share the most ‘polished’ shots & adore their slogan ‘a life outdoors is a life well lived.’

As well as following REI on Instagram you can also follow & use their hashtag #OptOutside for a chance to be featured, as we were a while back.

Below – our feature with REI ‘We can honestly say that we have never returned from an adventure & said to ourselves “You know what, I wish I never did that!” at Snowdonia National Park, Wales.

Our Instagram pal for quite some time now, we love this lady. A mountain leader, rock climbing instructor trainee & Mum of three fearless little ones – her Insta accounts are filled with hiking inspiration.

We adore that her kids often hike with her, showing that adventure really is for everyone & are also super excited to be joining her on her guided Welsh 3k Split Challenge in June.

You’ll find Carla on her @carlai85 Instagram account & her Summit Seekers Instagram account. You’ll also find tons of outdoor inspiration on her blog.

Adventure travel blogger Lauren empowers black women through travel & outdoor recreation & we love following her adventures.

A steward for diversity in outdoor recreation, we think the way that Lauren helps others to embrace nature & connect with the natural world is awesome.

You’ll find Lauren on her Outdoorsy Diva Instagram account as well as on her @blackwomenoutdoors account & her adventure travel blog.

Inspired by nature, guided by adventure & designed by us – via our organic clothing brand Instagram account, we share lots of outdoor inspiration, including hiking.

about the wilder route...

The Wilder Route - Author Bio. Image shows Kelly & Adam sat on a rock with a cloud encompassed mountain behind them, they are facing the camera & smiling. Kelly is wearing a bright yellow coat, a brown hat, jeans & yellow leg warmers. Adam is wearing a navy blue coast & jeans.

In 2017 Kelly & Adam Peck embarked on a journey that would change their lives forever...

Equipped with a couple of second-hand bikes, they took a one-way flight to Havana, Cuba &, after a cycling escapade that took them over four hundred kilometres - through remote villages & untouched landscapes, the roots of The Wilder Route were firmly planted.

From there the adventure was destined to continue... this intrepid couple spent the next 10 months soaking up the vibrance of Mexico, hiking up volcanoes in Guatemala, taking in the wild scenery of Canada & experiencing the beauty & diversity of Colombia, before eventually returning to the UK.

With the feeling of exploration in their souls, Kelly & Adam knew that they wanted to build a life that brought them closer to nature, a life that made adventure part of their every day. Selling most of their belongings & packing the rest of what they owned into their tiny home on wheels, van life became the next step of their journey.

Since moving into their motorhome in 2018 (a Bessacar E560 named Barnaby) they have experienced many more magical moments, built their online business on the road & have even planned a wedding & said "I do" along the way.

Featured in publications such as Wanderlust Magazine & Housesitting Magazine & speaking at events such as Destinations ShowsBorderless Live & The Caravan & Motorhome Show about living a location-independent lifestyle - they are passionate about helping & inspiring others to explore, to connect with nature &, to live alternatively.
